Your question is rather unsual - but in a very positive way. Normally, players aren't interested in the 'data side' of the game.
So, here is a reference sheet that I use with my first year rookies and always with any pitcher who has just returned from rehab. I use a 20/8n scale - or I'll customize it as I see fit. In particular are those disciplines that require further consideraiton when I have to make a judgement call as to where in the rotation does a player belong. Also, I'll use this reference sheet (with others) to talk with trainers about potential health maintenance issues in the future. In addition to the general topics that I just mentioned - if a player is having control problems, or some other difficulty - these sheets when collected over time are excellent reference points to spot habitual problems. I also use these sheets when taking a look at potential prospects. In fact, I use this format a lot when asking others to assist in the propect gathering process.
Again, great question. Coach B.ps there is another form I use -again, with rookies especially, that I'll post later. This form I use to consider the strike percentage of a prospect that I may be considering in additon to the overall control factor of his appearance. On this sheet I consder strikes, hits, fouls all to be STRIKES in the computations. Rather then me giving you the computation formulas, try a few of thiese computations yourself - then figure how they would factor into the overall perfomance of this pitcher. Just remember, fielding errors, base on balls have a direct effect on a pitcher's appearance and his control factor(s).
