Lister Petter Engine Serial Numbers
Lister-Petter AC1 and AD1 Operators Handbook i THE 'A' SERIES OPERATORS HANDBOOK HANDBOOK CONTENTS. 1. Chip Burning Software there. 8 Engine Serial Number.1.8 1.9. Vintage Diesel and Oil Engines Fairbanks Morse, Lister, Petter, Witte and other pump injected Diesel oil engines. Can someone tell me were to find the serial number on a sr-2 engine and how to date said engine from the serial number.
The Lister SR2 should have an engine data plate screwed or riveted to the fuel pump housing cover, this cover is positioned up and to the side of the fuel 'on/off' lever, if the plate is not there, can you see 2 x 1/8' drilled holes where the plate used to be attached, sometimes the data plate is located in other places but it should be easy enough to spot. If you have the engine number then you have the date too, take the first 2 numbers of the engine number and add them to 50 and that is the year of manufacture. I have seen the complete engine number stamped on the outer edge of the flywheel on some Listers, if the flywheel is origional then you might be able to get the number from there.
I have a spare operators handbook/parts list for Lister LR/SR 1,2,3 cyl. If you need one, send me a PM with your email address, all the best. Learn Math Fast Program For Schools. Yea I forgot to add that these were branded monarch what does CKD stand for and what about the letter Z CKD = Completely Knocked Down - kit of parts in effect. Lister sold the engines to Monarch without the air cowlings and other bits, Monarch then put their own parts on. Z can mean a few things, depending in which numbering system you are using, but favourite would be reverse rotation. All USA engines run in reverse to the home market ones, but it may also mean something else in this case.
Is it possibly a '2' rather than a 'Z'? I'd guess Monarch put their own serial number on the engine. Nice to have it confirmed as a Monarch build.

Awsome thanks! Ya sure seem to be, just here in canada parts are getting hard to find and expensive. I got mine for only $50, it was in rough shape so i cleaned it up and repainted it. It was mounted to a generator for a logging camp in the bush, but it spun out the center bushing on the cam. It should be rebuilt as it is mishing the bushing and has some blowby, but like i said parts are expensive here.
And right now she only wants to rune on one cylinder, i belive its a injector problem. Unfortantly i dont have anything to rune using it yet, but i still wanted one simply becouse i didnt have one. Lol [IMG][/IMG].
