Uli sata/raid controller (m1573) driver for windows 7.

Uli Sata Controller M1573 Driver Windows 7

Windows 7 does not include a driver for ' ULi SATA/RAID Controller (M1573)', whereas Vista did. In Vista, the driver uliahci.sys is configured by uliahci.inf, which are part of the distribution. Is there any way I can get Windows 7 setup to use the signed uliahci driver from Vista? The chip in question is used as the southbridge of my MSI RD480 Neo2 motherboard.

I don't know why this was dropped from Windows 7. Hi, Here is the steps to install the vista driver with vista compatible mode, you can refer: But you’d better contact the device manufacturer for more assistances because the driver not compatible with Windows 7 will cause unexpected issue such as BOSD. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Regards, Leo Huang in forum.

But how could I do it on a fresh or upgrade install with just a SATA drive? I tried it by installing to an old IDE drive. The performance index dropped to 3.7 due to poor drive performance, and Windows could not see the SATA drive.

In an elevated command prompt I typed: C: >pnputil /i /a C: ULi-1573 uliahci.inf I had to press the correct button in the red popup warning about unsigned drivers. But the driver did install as OEM7 and I got a confirmation message in the command prompt. After that, I could access the SATA drive.

With just a SATA drive, when I try adding the driver from a folder on an attached USB drive, Windows setup just said that driver installation failed. It never gave me a chance to OK the unsigned driver. Is there any way to export a driver, with signature, from Vista? Otherwise, I guess I'd have to learn how to sign the driver myself. Yeah, I think I'm just beating my head against the wall. F6 doesn't allow you to install unsigned kernal mode drivers anymore. There are workarounds.

I got a SATA installation of Windows 7 from a different computer to work by copying all the uliahci Registry entries I could find from the working IDE setup with uliahci added, and applying them to the SATA installation offline. I don't know if they were needed but I applied the enum entries also by editing permissions. It booted without a bluscreen, said it was installing drivers and said it had to reboot. I could copy the working IDE installation to SATA. I think it is unfortunate that a perfectly good driver from Vista was not included in Windows 7.

It might be because it's only SATA 1, but more likely just that no one was willing to certify it for Windows 7. It doesn't have an 'Owner' anymore. Is there any way to export a driver, with signature, from Vista? I suggest to contact Vista Forum for further help: If the Windows 7 cannot recognize your SATA drive, that seem the drive didn’t compatible with Windows 7. Also update your BISO to the latest version for test.

Furthermore, you should check your hardware is compatible with Windows 7 or not. For any hardware incompatible with Windows 7 will cause unexpected issue. In addition, you can change anther external HD with Windows 7 installation package to upgrade. Hope that helps. Regards, Leo Huang in forum.

This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. You machine is an older socket 939 so do not expect drivers for such an old platform. You machine was made for XP. I don't know why not. Microsoft seems to make a big point about Windows 7 working on older hardware.
